Resource Detailed View
You can access SkyBoT through a Webservice, a HTTP request, or via software tools such as Aladin, WCS tools, etc.
SkyBoT (Sky Body Tracker) is a service of the Virtual Observatory framework provided by the Institut de mécanique céleste et de calcul des éphémérides (IMCCE, Observatoire de Paris, UMR8028 CNRS) which allows to seek and identify all the known solar system bodies which are present in any field of view of the celestial sphere at a given epoch. The service can be used via a query form or can be consumed as a XML Web service that makes it possible to easily deploy it into your own application. SkyBoT provides also a name resolver that converts the name of the solar system bodies into their celestial coordinates.
