Resource Detailed View

  • Responsible Thematic Node: Planetary Dynamics and Extraterrestrial matter
  • Short Name: Ephemerides of the five main Uranian satellite
  • Brief description: Ephemerides of the five main Uranian satellite
  • URL: http://vo.imcce.fr/webservices/miriade/
  • Type: DATA/Ephemeris & Attitude
  • English Language: YES
  • Restricted access: YES
  • Comment on the access:
Our subroutine will be available on request by email, and via SPICE kernels.

  • Longer description:
In the near future we will have Phobos and Deimos ephemerides based on ground based and spacecraft observations.
New ephemerides of the five main Uranian satellites will be also completed at the very beginning of 2006.

    Our ephemerides are original ones.
The Martian moon ephemerides have been developed among the Mars Radio Science team (Mars Express). These will be useful to the Mars Express extended mission (2006-2008) and to further spacecrafts in orbit around Mars.
Uranian satellite ephemerides will be useful to forecast the next Uranian mutual events (arising each 42 years).
Like for Jovian and Saturnian mutual event campaigns, mutual occultations, or eclipses of one Uranian satellite by another will be observable from the Earth. The campaign will spent roughly two years during 2006-2008.

  • Processing level:
    Level 2

  • Status (static or active ?):
No archive yet, but Martian moon ephemerides will be on the spice kernels of ESA.
Ephemerides will be updated only if a significant number of new observations is available. In practice,no updates are expected for the next few years. Hence, our products can be considered as static over a year.
