    Public access.

  • Longer description:
The Virtual Meteor Observatory (VMO) is a central informatics platform for the meteor science community, providing online access to meteor datasets from different institutions and groups. The VMO makes it easier to combine data from different observing projects, allowing for more comprehensive analyses to be performed by meteor astronomers. In addition, the meteor data may be linked to other astronomical data resources and, for example, be used to search and identify small asteroids.

The VMO is developed in close cooperation with the International Meteor Organization (IMO).

  • Processing level:
Combination of low-level observation data (e.g., details of meteor paths observed by camera systems) and high-level processed data (e.g., meteor orbits derived from triangulated observations).

  • Status (static or active ?):
    Active & under development.
